Yorkie & Chihuahua Teeth

Yorkies & Chihuahua usually start losing baby teeth between 5 and 7 months and by 10  months the permanent teeth should all be in.  Sometimes, it can be necessary to have the canines removed when the second canines are about half way thru and sometimes, they retain ALL the baby teeth and they must be removed.  This usually happens at the same time as their S/N surgery.

It is very important to practice oral hygiene on your Yorkies & Chihuahua's as soon as possible.  There are several options for toothpaste and brushes or even dental cloths.  Brushing daily or as often as you can will help prevent dental problems in the future.  Talk to your Vet about all of your options.
